May is The Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes awareness month. EDS Canada organized an event for a group of those with EDS and their loved ones to come Queen's park to acknowledge the success of the announcement of a new clinic for those with EDS. However, we were also there to stress that there is still so much work to be done in advocacy for those with rare illnesses and disabilities. To bring this message to the Ontario Government the EDS Canada organization crafted another proclamation that was read out in the legislature.
We thank Gila Martow for her support and advocacy.

EDS Canada has arranged for Niagara Falls in Ontario and Science World in beautiful British Columbia to be illuminated on May 4th, 2016 in honour of all persons living with The Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes in Canada and throughout the globe. These events further awareness and allow us to celebrate the progress which has been made across the EDS world over the past year.

A successful afternoon meeting at the Krembil Research Institute (TWH) between executives, scientists, clinicians and MPP Gila Martow. We discussed connective tissue research relating to EDS and the need for further development and logistics for future research treatments. We were able to discuss EDS Canada's interests and efforts in these areas with this group and lay the ground work for future interactions. An exciting and enlightening day all around!
